1969 Plymouth Road Runner
#'s matching convertible with very desirable factory air grabber, bucket seats and console! It has received a detailed restoration/preservation and is ready to hit the road running "Beep Beep". This was Motor Trend's car of the year in 1969 and it's easy to understand why. EXTERIOR: Absolutely gorgeous! The B3 Ice Blue Metallic paint has been applied neatly then polished to a smooth and glossy finish. Correct matte finish stripes on the hood and when the grills on the hood are red it indicates they are functional feeding fresh air to the motor. The body panels are said to be original with proper alignment and gaps that are better than average. The big heavy doors close very easily. The bumpers have been rechromed and the rest of the trim was cleaned up; they have an original lustrous shine. The power white vinyl convertible top is in great shape, and it also has a boot that matches the interior. The functioning fresh air hood is a factory option. It is sitting on Magnum 500 rims that are wrapped in BFG Radial T/A tires. INTERIOR: Very desirable bucket seats with a console, most were bench seats with the shifter on the column. The upholstery, door panels and carpet were replaced. The dash area and console look original and are in good shape. It still has its rare thumb wheel 8-track player. The power top works, the interior lights are working. It has its original blue seatbelts too. ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Beautifully restored engine bay! The number matching 383-335 horsepower engine is still in place, not to mention the "beep beep" horn too. It also has the very desirable fresh air induction system which is verified by the N96 on the fender tag. It's very correct and complete: manifolds, air cleaner, valve covers etc. The battery is properly secured. It runs cool with a replaced radiator. It has three speed wipers and the squirters are hooked up. It has clean metal painted blue, the VIN is on the core support and the original fender tag is still attached. TRUNK COMPARTMENT: The underside of the lid and jamb are both painted slick just like the body. A reproduction sticker was added and the weatherstrip, well liner and mat were replaced. The pan metal is all solid and rust free with a neatly applied spatter finish paint. There is a full-size spare with jack. UNDERSIDE: The frame and floors are solid rust-free metal that was prepped and painted semi-gloss black. The front/rear suspension and steering was gone through. The brakes are working great, the e-brake is hooked up. Great sounding exhaust system with cross pipe, fresh mufflers, and the correct chrome tips. The fuel system was replaced including the tank. Looking up at the motor you can see the correct casting #s, date, and matching VIN. The correct 727 Torqueflite automatic transmission looks fresh. Correct 8 3/4" rear end with 3.23 gears. SERVICE: Our lead mechanic thoroughly inspected this car, and we tightened the belts, replaced the fuel tank, replaced the fuel sending unit, adjusted the brake light switch, lubed the driver's door latch, and mounted two new tires. Only 2,128 convertibles were made total! How many have bucket seat, fresh air and still have matching #s. Put the top down, put it in drive and "beep beep" the horn.
