1936 Chevrolet Master Deluxe 2 Door Sedan
1936 Chevrolet Master Deluxe 2 Door Sedan "The first thing the driver of a new car must do is to familiarize himself with the various controls provided for its proper handling. This does not apply to the beginner alone, as although there are many points of similarity between all cars, there are also important differences; and it is not wise regardless of previous experience, to drive a new car before fully understanding what each control is for and how to use it." From the 1938 Chevrolet owner's manual and words that are even more true today as each specialty car here at Classic Auto Mall has unique modifications and features! For consignment a 1936 Chevrolet Master Deluxe 2 door sedan, showing 51,893 unverifiable miles, owned by our consignor since 1994 and he has taken it to Hot Rod events all over the East coast during his stewardship of the car, which was only partially completed when he purchased it. It's done now, and ready for your own 1 man parade up and down Main Street or just sit back at the shows and rake in the trophies. Note: This vehicle is sold with a Pennsylvania reconstructed branding on the title Exterior There are few colors that pop on the Hot Rod like yellow and this one is wearing a solid coat of School Bus Yellow which also covers the center rib of the grille, the headlight housing, and the hood ornament and trim. The front bumperettes are aggressive billet hooks while the rears are simple, bullet shaped nibs just above the chrome exhaust tips. Back in front, the hood is louvered on top and side trim is accompanied by green and red stripes which also run the length of the car as pinstripes. In profile, the car is slightly raked thanks to the Centec wheels which are one inch higher in back and wear staggered width tires. In back, the characteristic humpback trunk flanked by taillights that protrude like Gary the Snail's eyes, (see: Spongebob). Long oblong windows complement the long, sweeping fenders at either end of wide running boards. We note a scuff in the yellow paint as the only exterior imperfection. One wheel is missing the center hub cover. Interior Soft gray cloth along with burgundy decorate the door panels in patterned cloth. Burgundy pleated seat fronts combine with gray vinyl shells for the tall, bucket seats in front. The back uses yards and yards of the two colors to create a parlor-like bench setting surrounded by soft materials and miles of legroom, and it's all in very nice condition. A GT sport steering wheel fronts the pinstriped, body colored dashboard housing an aluminum faced gauge cluster featuring VDO black faced readouts. A Pioneer AM/FM/Cassette radio is in the center along with a semi vintage Radio Shack CB radio under the dash. The floor mounted shifter sticks straight up and is surrounded by gray carpet in good condition. The gray, stitched headliner is also in very decent condition with one scratch. The trunk is clean and holds the gas filler tube and the battery. Drivetrain Under the hood, a clean 327ci V8 with an Edelbrock intake and 4-barrel carburetor, chromed Chevrolet valve covers and clean headers attached provide the bling. A TH350 3-speed automatic transmission is behind it all, sending power to the Ford 8" rear axle. Power brakes supply the slowing mechanism with discs up front and drums in the back. Undercarriage Minimal surface rust under here and oil only on the flywheel cover. The knuckles are clean and so are other wheel components. Dual exhaust comes from the headers and is then completely colored by surface rust before they encounter clean Super Turbo mufflers and eventually, chrome tips. A Mustang II front end is matched with leaf springs in the back to make up the suspension package. Drive-Ability The exhaust travels three miles through pipes on this big car to finally growl a bit out the back as we bring the 327 to life. The velour-like seats are comfortable and provide plenty of grip and visibility is quite good with lots of glass around us and a tall roofline to accommodate them. It's well sorted, has good acceleration and all functions onboard including lights, gauges, turn signals, and radio, all work as they should. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase. The classic Chevrolet Master Deluxe profile is always a welcome sight here at the mall and is a standout when coated in a bright color. This is a turnkey show car and provides instant membership into the lively Hot Rod community, composed of thousands upon thousands of faithful car people and it doesn't matter what their daily driver is, weekends were made for rodding!
