1989 Chevrolet S-10 Blazer
1989 Chevrolet S10 Blazer After a long period of use in referencing a larger truck-like Chevrolet vehicle, the Blazer name was applied to a mid-sized product in 1984 as a direct competitor against the Jeep Cherokee. Since its inception as a midsize sport utility vehicle, the Chevrolet Blazer was built on a ladder frame chassis shared with the S-10 compact truck. For consignment, a fully customized and hot rodded S-10 Blazer with 2,817 non verifiable miles as the title reads Mileage Exempt. This truck could be considered a "trailblazer" with its unique good looks, Ridler wheels, modern braking and tinted glass. Now built for speed, with a fuel injected 5.3 liter LM7 V8 and 4L60E combo under the hood, and a Posi rear axle, it will go fast in a straight line or on a curved road, all the while looking like a 1 of a kind example of the 1989 Blazer Exterior Let's start upfront, a very good place to start, where we see a simplified egg crate ribbed grille, single flanking LED headlights and a mirror finished bumper in chrome. A cowled hood, straight steel fenders and doors with more deep red paint draws you in and has you begging for more. Gaps are all well minded, and windows are tinted. Custom side view mirrors are now hanging from both sides, and the rear quarters now accommodate the polished lip 18-inch Ridler 5 spoke wheels wrapped in the back with 245/50ZR18 rubber. Meanwhile, up front we note more Ridler wheels and some 225/45ZR18 rubber. On top, the roof rack has been shaved off and it's just miles of ribbed and smooth red steel. More smoked glass for the rear gate setup with a Hurst badge and tall flanking factory tail lights inserted into the ends of the rear fenders. Interior Talk about custom, this truck shouts it out with a swing of the doors and we are met with retina searing red tweed mixed with black plastic and gray tweed insert panels. These doors are definitely a party going on and we haven't even gotten inside as of yet! Turning our attention to the inside, which makes use of a gray tweed peppered with colored speckles and red stripe inserts to emulate the door panels. Now there is a party going on! A custom speckle gray tweed panel dash now fronts the Grant GT 3 spoke rally style steering wheel. Vintage style faux carbon fiber gauges occupy the driver's field of vision, and in the center of the dash are the factory heater/AC controls above the B&M shifter within a late model black plastic console. A Pioneer digital flip out AM/FM/Bluetooth radio is now inserted into the original space and is surrounded by a near perfect red dash top. For the rear, a speckle tweed gray and red rear bench is in and provides room for 2 of your friends. Side interior panels and the headliner are also the red background with the gray and black colored speckle. Now the party is really rollin'. Last one in the pool with a suit on is a rotten egg! Drivetrain In keeping with the unique and go-fast theme, under the hood we note a rebuilt and bored .020 over 5.3 liter LM7 V8 with aluminum heads, a Lunati VDIS-272 camshaft, LS7 lifters, and a 92mm throttle body. FiTech EFI handles the air and liquid dinosaur mix and a B&M built 4L60E 4-speed automatic with a Hughes torque converter is on back. The rear axle is a 1999 S10 10 bolt unit with 3.42 gears and RPO G80 Positraction. The installation is so professional in appearance one could easily think this was a factory job. Undercarriage A factory fuel tank hangs off the back underneath, and as we move forward we note miles of black steel with only a few areas of surface rust peeking through on the untreated components. Frame and floor pans are structurally sound and providing the ride is an independent coil spring suspension working with leaf springs in the back. Dropping things 2" is the BellTech suspension kit that has been installed for a lower meaner look. Power disc brakes are here on the front and rear and also see are ceramic coated headers with a FlowMaster exhaust system with electric cutouts for when you want to be heard before you are seen, which will definitely get attention when you get goosey with your boot. Drive-Ability In a word...fast and loud, but that was two words, and I digress.... This custom S-10 Blazer smoked the test track and the tires and worked all just swimmingly. All functions are going on as planned, and it was an exciting test drive, which when finished, left with a smile on my face. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase. A party for your right foot, and your eyes in the interior speckled tweed and use of materials. Great paint and wonderful rodded custom looker and cooker. Pass the "dutchie" to the left hand side...Party on Garth! 1GNCS18RBK0144034 1-USA G-General Motors N-Chevrolet APV C-4001 Thru 5000 GVWR S-Small Conventional Cab 4x2 1-1/2 Ton 8-S10 Blazer R-2.8L V6 TBI B-Check Digit K-1989 0-Pontiac, MI Assy Plant 144034-Sequential Unit Number Classic Auto Mall is home to more than 1,000 classic and collectible vehicles for sale via consignment in a climate controlled 336,000-square foot showroom (that's more than 8 acres!).
