1960 Studebaker Hawk
This 1960 Studebaker Hawk is far from stock a truly unique build that blends classic styling with serious performance. Powered by a 304 Studebaker full-flow block built by Vics Machine Shop and fully balanced to R3 specs, it features Corbin air-flowed jet thrust heads, a high-lift cam, Avanti headers, dual exhaust, and a Paxton supercharger with an oil cooler. The T-10 4-speed transmission, twin traction rear end, and balanced driveshaft ensure smooth, powerful delivery, while a rebuilt front end and rear sway bars provide enhanced handling. Its been upgraded from generator to alternator and fitted with a 6-quart oil pan for better lubrication. Inside, youll find two front seats, a 160 mph speedometer, clock, vacuum gauge, and tachometer. Finished in good paint with no rust, this Hawk is both mechanically impressive and visually striking. A true point of pride in 2011, on the way to the International Meet in Missouri, it hit about 140 mph passing three semis, blowing out the rear window in a feat rarely seen outside an R3 Avanti. That legendary run earned it the Hard Luck award in Turning Wheels Summer 2011. This is not your grandfathers Hawk its a one-of-a-kind performer built to thrill.
