1971 Chevrolet Chevelle 2-dr Hardtop Sport Coupe
1971 Chevrolet Chevelle 2-dr Hardtop Sports Coupe. Beautiful restoration with incredibly silky-smooth paint and a lot of new parts including a metal cowl hood with correct stainless trim! This Chevelle was built at the Oshawa Ontario plant during the 4 th week of April 1971. It left the factory with Cranberry Red paint and a light sandalwood cloth fabric bench seat along with a V8. As you can see its now Hugger Orange and has just had a restoration completed that was stretched out over 18 years! Work completed includes new quarter panels, new grill and headlight bezels, new chrome and moldings, new emblems, new weather stripping and of course new paint nearly 20 years ago. Youd never know that it was done that long ago, as it only has driven once since it was painted!!! The paint is phenomenal, and all the trim is new! Suspension is stock but has new coils and shocks. There are power brakes, but its drums all the way around and theyre all in working order. Power steering is nice to have too. Under the hood is a 350 SBC with a nice, but not too lumpy cam, headers and Edelbrock intake carb and valve covers. Behind that is a TH-350. The interior is largely stock, but very minty for its age. Wheels, tires, trim rings and center caps are all brand new. Theres one aftermarket gauge that needs to be secured under the dash, and a modern stereo with remote hangs below the dash as well. A separate amplifier is mounted in the trunk to power the rear 6X9s. Looks like the dash pad has been replaced, as its flawless. Glass is all good and theres a new wood steering wheel. Fairly basic car in terms of options. Just a heater, basic gauges, bench seat and AM radio when it began life. Its more about the driving experience in this one, and it drives very well. The carb is set up nicely and the car runs and drives just like youd expect. Lots of shove still in this 350 too! Straight forward, and nice from top to bottom, back to front! Perfect to drive it just like it is, or use it as a solid foundation to do an SS clone, add some badges and stripes and maybe a spoiler to give it some serious attitude! Your new Chevelle is waiting! Odometer reads 5,000 miles, but with only 5 digits and a restoration its unknown how many times its rolled over, or if it was reset during restoration. True milage unknown.
