This Jeep Gladiator 66 Is What Would Happen if a Punisher Logo Tattoo Became a Car

The 66 craze is now in full swing, and its no longer the purview of military suppliers such as Magna Steyr . Youve seen the work of Hennessey with its Goliath and the VelociRaptor six-wheel-drive pickups. And who can forget the Mercedes-Benz G-Class 66 or the even wilder Brabus and Mansory versions of the truck? Add SoFlo Jeeps to the latest list of six-wheel-drive vehicle creators. The customization outfit that specializes in modifying Toledos finest is located in Fort Lauderdale, Fla, and the company has made a name for itself by building up bold, brash 66 conversions of various Jeepsincluding the SF6x6G you see here. The G stands for Gladiator , and thats what went under the knife to create this behemoth. SoFlo cuts and lengthens the frame to accommodate the conversion, and the bed and hood are modified using proprietary molds. The SF6x6G features two driven axles for true 66 functionality. The middle axle sports a 9.0-inch differential fitted with a Detroit True Track Locker for extra traction. A 5.0-inch lift provides 14 inches of travel at each axle. SoFlo will drop General Motors' LS3 V-8 in if you want, too, albeit at a sobering $30,000 upcharge. Otherwise, the stock Pentastar V-6 motivates this beast. At the front, SoFlo fits a grumpier (a single-piece grille/bumper combination with a provision for a winch) and gives the 66 the angry eyes look thats so popular among the Wrangler set these days. This isnt a truck for introverts, so its over-the-top aesthetic is fine. In a nod to practicality, the outside is painted in a bedliner-like coating that SoFlo calls a scratch-resistant three-part epoxy for easy cleaning. --> Theres an example for sale on the SoFlo site for $139,999 , which is a lot more than a regular Gladiator Rubicon . Then again, what sort of value does an extra axle and the endless stares of everyone around you carry? Up to you to decideand you can also ponder some of SoFlo's other creations in the gallery above.
