1994 Chevrolet Camaro Z28
Ralph Dale Earnhardt was an American professional stock car driver and team owner, who raced from 1975 to 2001 in the former NASCAR Winston Cup Series, most notably driving the No. 3 Chevrolet for Richard Childress Racing. His aggressive driving style earned him the nicknames "The Intimidator", "The Man in Black" and "Ironhead"; after his son Dale Earnhardt Jr. joined the Cup Series circuit in 1999, Earnhardt was generally known by the retronym "Dale Earnhardt Sr.". He is regarded as one of the greatest drivers in NASCAR history. Earnhardt drove the No. 3 car for the majority of his career, spanning the latter half of the 1981 season, and then again from 1984 until his death in 2001. Although he had other sponsors during his career, his No. 3 is associated in fans' minds with his last sponsor GM Goodwrench and his last color scheme - a predominantly black car with bold red and silver trim. The black and red No. 3 continues to be one of the most famous logos in North American motor racing.
For consignment, and to quench your NASCAR thirst, you're looking at a 1 of 6 special edition Camaro Z28 sporting a mere 5,978 title verified miles and remaining in showroom condition. This 1994 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 Dale Earnhardt Edition was a unique creation from The Intimidator's own Chevy dealership in NC and was not available to the general public. Instead, a drawing was held for the chance to purchase 1 of the 6 creations and our consignor states that this is the only car of the 6 that is equipped with a 6 speed manual and fully optioned. Not only does it have a special body and loaded interior, but also it can live up to its Victory Lane style with its fuel-injected V8 and if that isn't enough to get your blood pumping, then how about Dale Sr. and Dale Jr.'s autographs, (along with photos of the signing), right out in the open on the dash. Boogity, Boogity, Boogity....let's go racin' boys!!!
Exterior
They only made six of these: one to celebrate each one of Dale Earnhardt's championship wins up until that point. And the fact that this is a 1994, (the year of his seventh championship), really ties it all together. It's the kind of history that made this Camaro an instant classic. From tip to toe, top to bottom, and everywhere in between, we see factory black paint and it's looking just fab! Integrated bumpers, body matching, front and rear melt into the steel body panels which are straight and totally ding free. A few strategically placed pieces of black trim are seen throughout and melt into the body just seamlessly. Fog lights are upfront to light the way and gracing the hood is GM Goodwrench liverley that matches Dale's real car to a T. On top a dual paneled smoked glass removable "T" style top has like new factory rubber seals and opens the cabin up for some fresh air. Just behind the B pillar is a curved greenhouse glass enclosure for the rear passengers, as well as any of their gear to store in the back. On the back, a NASCAR style spoiler runs the width of the arched rear melting almost seamlessly into the rear quarter panels, and large tail lights peek out from underneath. Adding more NASCAR flair are silver bordering on white rocker fairings for that extra racy racy look. Factory badging is present and accounted for and Goodwrench, #3, championship year wins, and Dale Sr. signature decals give some extra pizazz. Factory Camaro badged alloy wheels are on all 4 corners wrapped in deeply treaded Goodyear rubber.
Interior
Graphite leather covers all the seating surfaces which present with high back buckets upfront, and a small rear 2 plus 2 bench. The mar and wrinkle free seats have Dale Earnhardt Championship Series embroidered into both the headrest as part of the very limited edition package. These are pristine in condition as are the door panels that cozy up to the seats when the doors are closed, and you are in ready to go mode. We see power windows, power seats, power locks, the Z28 preferred equipment group, and A/C. Black carpet floods the floors, and the dash is all original and all clean as a whistle sporting the signatures of Dale Sr and Jr across the passengers airbag and center top dash. A digital readout AM/FM/CD player is factory, and all is just perfect with the interior world.
Drivetrain
Under the hood is the consignor stated numbers matching 5.7 liter LT-1 V8 with electronic fuel injection to feed it the go juice and make the tire turning 275hp. A 6-speed manual T56 transmission is on back and pushes power rearward to a performance optioned 3.42 10 bolt rear axle.
Undercarriage
As one would expect from a well loved 1 of 6 collector car with low low miles, the underside is nearly showroom, with no rust to be seen, nicely painted floor pans, rust free rockers and overall, a very nice unibody undercarriage. Power disc brakes are on the front and back and keeping the Goodyears stuck to the track is an independent coil spring front suspension and torque arm and coil spring rear arrangement.
Drive-Ability
Nearly like-new is the buzzword for this wonderful timepiece from '94. It starts right up, and rolls with the best of them on the test track with smooth power, straight braking, and everything in working order. A/C blows cold, and the stereo is audiophile quality. We kept our tenure behind the wheel short as not to be the ones to log extra miles.
Words like collector car, rotisserie restoration, frame off, time capsule, or survivor all mean a top notch quality car, and in the case of this one, low miles, 1 of 6 built and a great tie into NASCAR history, and all original. A nearly perfect interior, excellent exterior, plenty of muscle for the power, and a comfortable cruiser if you so desire. The T top is a bonus, and one almost cannot go wrong with this low mileage pampered, garaged Earnhardt edition Z28. I see the checkered flag just ahead! We just won Talladega!!!!!
