1952 MG TD ROADSTER Lot 615 1951 MG TD Roadster The MG TD Midget roadster was part of the storied T-Type series, which was produced between 1936 and 1955. Introduced in 1949, the TD was the brainchild of John Thornley who, shortly thereafter in 1952, would be appointed Director and General Manager of the MG Car Company. 1939 MG VA TICKFORD DROPHEAD My father, Robert C. Earl, imported this car from England in 1968. His sister, who lived in England at the time, located the car and arranged for its shipment to my father in Malibu, California, USA. The car was stored in my father's garage at his home in Malibu for nearly 30 years. During this time, he and his wife used the car for occasional pleasure drives and trips to nearby auto shows. I have included a picture of them during a "red carpet" showing at the Queen Mary Ship Tour and Museum.
