1967 Ford Mustang

Description:

This 1967 Ford Mustang is a wonderful 2 door hardtop that is sure to make for a super fun summer cruiser. In the 1967 model year, the Ford Mustang was facing a bit of a turning point. See, from its initial debut in the middle of 1964 through 1966, the Mustang was targeted at the younger generation who were seeking a fun and sporty car, all for a modest price tag. In turn, in its first three years, the Mustang was a smash hit for the Ford Motor Company and the Mustang faced virtually no competition from competitors in the category that the Mustang created, the Pony Car. By 1967 however, Ford's contemporaries had begun catching up with the releases of the Camaro, the Firebird, and even its new FoMoCo sibling, the Cougar. Due to this rising competition, Ford tasked the Mustang's engineers and designers with creating a new '67 Mustang that had to appeal to an even wider audience. Not only did the 1967 Mustang have to remain affordable, it also had to be both more powerful and more luxurious, which is exactly what they did. On September 30, 1966, Ford introduced its brand new 1967 Ford Mustang. The new-look '67 Mustang retained some of the original flavor of the original stylings of the mid-year '64-'66 Mustangs, but it featured several style updates that made it look like a bigger and better car. Up front, the grilles were enlarged to provide for better air flow to the engines. Down the sides, the '67 Mustangs had received more pronounced body lines and larger faux side scoops that together gave the new Mustang a more dramatic and more imposing side profile. Perhaps the most obvious exterior change to the 1967 Mustang was the complete redesign of the taillights that were now inwardly concave look that seemed to make the Mustang look meaner and more powerful. Even the interiors were spruced up for a more luxurious feel! Ford did away with the more basic-looking Rally-Pac in 1967 and replaced it with a more modern and upscale looking instrument cluster. Further elevating the interiors of the '67 Mustangs was the addition of additional interior brightwork that gave off a more ritzy look inside. This particular 1967 Mustang comes to us from a single family that owned and cared for the car for a very long time. Powering this '67 Mustang is a 289 Cubic Inch V8 engine fed by an Edelbrock single 4 barrel carburetor mounted atop an Edelbrock alumunim intake. Exhaust exits this Mustang's V8 powerplant via a set of headers through a dual exhaust setup that produces a superb throaty sound out of the rear tailpipes. The upgraded V8 is backed by a C-4 automatic transmission that makes this classic Mustang an easy car for anybody to take for a spin around the block. In addition to the automatic transmission, this Mustang is equipped with fantastic, driver-friendly options! With power steering, manuvering in and out of a tight parking space at the local car show or ice cream shop is almost effortless. Further aiding this Ford Mustang's ease of parking is a pair of outside chrome mirrors, with the driver's side mirror being remote adjustable. Riding on a set of whitewall radial tires, each paired with a Deluxe full wheelcover, this '67 Mustang has a fantastic look and even better ride cruising down the road. Stopping power is provided by hydraulic drum brakes in all four corners, supplemented by a dual master cylinder that provides for more reliable braking. The exterior of this 1967 Mustang has been correctly refinished in Red paint and accented with a beautiful black vinyl top that together complete the exterior look of this gorgeous pony car. The interior of this 1967 Ford Mustang is gorgeous! The front black bucket seats and rear bench seat appear to have been correctly reupholstered, all of which look great. The black carpeting, black padded dash, door panels, center console, and steering wheel all appear to remain in their stock configuration and further add to terrific looking interior on this Mustang. The instrument cluster is outfitted with a 120 MPH speedometer, temperature gauge, alternator gauge, oil pressure gauge, and fuel gauge, along with a clock. The dash is completed with a locking glovebox, sliding door storage compartment, and push-button AM radio. Whether you're buying your very first classic car or you're adding to your existing stable of collectibles, this 1967 Ford Mustang would make an excellent choice.
