This rare 1971 GMC Sprint is a great way to get the look of an El Camino, but with a more distinct and interesting character. Not only are they a rarer sight today, but in this debut year, the Sprint was made in small numbers - only 5536 were produced for the 1971 model year. By comparison, Chevrolet delivered 41,606 El Caminos that year. There was a solid investment in this GMC with nice body panels, bright chrome bumpers and a distinctive blue metallic paint. Just like the El Camino, the Sprint has an instant muscle car level appeal, accentuated with a cowl hood, black SS style hood stripes, blackout grille and dual exhaust tips. The look is further enhanced with the addition of a set of chrome 15-inch American Racing wheels wrapped with Cooper Cobra Radial G/T tires staggered 255/60R15 front and 275/60R15 rear for just the right stance.
The black interior features a comfortable bench seat, original GMC logo steering wheel and a retro-style AM/FM/AUX stereo with Bluetooth capabilities. Additionally, there is a SunPro temperature gauge mounted on the driver's side A-pillar. The driver and passenger are kept cool with an upgraded Vintage Air system.
Power and performance are provided by a healthy 350 cubic inch small block engine mated to a TH350 automatic transmission. The engine bay is very clean and features an Edelbrock Performer EPS aluminum intake manifold topped with an Edelbrock carburetor and open element chrome air cleaner. Additionally, this Sprint is equipped with chrome valve covers, power steering and power brakes. A dual exhaust system fitted with Xlerator performance mufflers produces a throaty muscle car rumble.
