Only built for three years from 1948 through 1950 by the Willys-Overland Co out of Toledo, OH. It was designed by Brooks Stevens and was developed to fill a gap in the companys product line, crossing over from their ""Utilitarian"" SUV's to the passenger auto market. A total of almost 20,000 were manufactured and sold. However, as you can see, Willys lacked the machinery to form deep-drawn fenders and make styled lines which everyone else was doing. This particular ""Driver"" Quality Jeepster is up for your consideration and would make a lovely addition to being a cottage or cabin car as it has been for many years in Northern MI. This vehicle just made a hour trip to our shop with no hiccups. The paint on this rig is old and has many blemishes, most notably on the rockers where it is a little crusty. The frame and floor boards are in good condition, the radio does not work, it does have a heater, not sure if that works or not. The lights and gauges seem to work fine, the soft top is in good condition and it does have side curtains, but they are original and a little frail. This thing is a blast to drive around town as it starts, runs and drives just fine.
