This 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air Convertible is a beautiful Tri-Five convertible that is loaded with fantastic options! In 1955, Chevrolet debuted a brand new design for its passenger cars, and kicked off what became to be known as the Tri-Five era. The Tri-Five Chevys"1955, 1956, and 1957"would become some of the most popular and iconic American-made cars of all time, and seemingly everyone has at least seen one in a movie or even driving down the street. 1957 was the final year of the Tri-Fives and is arguably the most identifiable year of the bunch. At the nose, the new 1957 Chevrolets featured flatter hoods accented by dual spear-style wind splints along with a newly redesigned grille and bumper. The Bel Air models also sported an elevated gold anodized "V" emblem along with a matching gold "V" emblem. The sides of the '57 Chevys were perhaps the most iconic of the Tri-Fives since a set of large fins protruded from the rear quarter panels thus giving the the car its eye-catching silhouette. Matching the special Bel Air front gold trim was the gold "Bel Air" script on the trunk, differentiating the top-of-the-line Bel Air from the entry-level 150 and intermediate-level 210 models. On the inside, the 1957 Bel Air got a facelift as well with regards to the seats and dash styling that further added to the plush and luxurious allure of the premium model Bel Air. The other significant upgrade in 1957 for Chevrolet was the introduction of the 283 V8 engine which offered 18 additional cubic inches of displacement from the previous years' 265 V8. Powering this '57 Chevy Convertible is, of course, a 283 Cubic Inch V8 engine fed by a single 4 barrel carburetor that was said to have pushed out over 200 horsepower when new. Exhaust exits this Chevrolet's Power Pack via a dual exhaust setup that creates a nice throaty sound out of the rear tailpipes. The 283 V8 is backed by a Powerglide Automatic Transmission that makes this Bel Air easy for anybody to drive. Further adding to this Chevy's easy drivability are several desirable options! This 1957 Bel Air comes equipped with power steering which makes getting in and out of those tight spaces at the local car show or drive-in a total breeze and improves the overall driving experience. Dual outside chrome mirrors are another wonderful option on this Chevrolet Bel Air since they provide better visibility when backing in or out of tight spaces. Power brakes are also a welcome addition to this convertible since it makes bringing this '57 Bel Air to complete stop much easier. The white vinyl power convertible top is in fantastic condition and it works great as well. Riding on a set of wide whitewall radial tires on steel rims, accented by a set of Spinner-style full wheelcovers, this 1957 Chevy has a great look and even better ride. The chrome and brightwork around the exterior of this Bel Air looks great too! The exterior has been refinished in Roman Red, completing the exterior look of this iconic Tri-Five Chevy. The interior on this 1957 Bel Air Convertible is absolutely gorgeous! The front and rear bench seats have been reupholstered in a beautiful two-tone Red and Silver Vinyl. The color-matched door panels, red carpeting, dash and steering wheel are all in great shape and appear to be in their stock configuration. All four power windows go up and down with ease, all with the simple flick of a switch. The instrument cluster is equipped with a 120 MPH speedometer, temperature gauge, and fuel gauge, just how this Bel Air Convertible came back in 1957. Also incorporated into the dash is an upgraded AM/FM/Cassette entertainment system and clock. Whether you're buying your first classic car or you're adding to your existing collection of Tri-Five Chevys, this 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air Convertible would make an excellent addition.
