1957 Ford Fairlane 500 Sunliner Converti 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 Sunliner
Description:
Despite the fuss about the 1957 Chevrolets, the year's top-selling convertible was the Ford Fairlane 500, which notched 77,728 happy customers against Chevy's 47,562. The 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 Sunliner convertible is five inches lower and nine inches longer than the 1956 cars. Fin fins took up almost half the length-"high canted fenders" in Ford speak-and a golden flash led from the headlight to the beginning of the fin at the rear of the door. This beautifully restored Sunliner is finished strikingly in Flame Red over Raven Black with a matching black convertible top. The restoration is somewhat older, however this classic remains in excellent condition today - a testament to the quality of the restoration and the care it has received. A wide whitewall radial tire set adds to this Ford's good looks. Built new in California, this glamorous convertible has options and accessories that include a spotlight mirror, chrome front V-Bar, Town & Country Wonderbar radio, and super-rare factory air conditioning with unique integrated air vents at the windshield base.
Under the forward-opening hood is an optional 312 cubic inch Thunderbird Special 4-barrel V8 engine dressed up with factory-finned aluminum Thunderbird logo valve covers. The engine is paired with a 3-speed manual transmission with overdrive. The correctly detailed engine bay also features optional windshield washers, power steering, and power brakes.
