2002 Chevrolet Impala LS 4 Door Sedan

Description:

6534 2002 Chevrolet Impala LS 4 Door Sedan

After a four year hiatus, the Impala name was reintroduced for the eighth generation, beginning in 2000. Even in SS trim, the car was equipped with a V6 and was front wheel drive. Power windows, locks, and mirrors and the LS came with a rear spoiler that could be deleted at the buyer's request.

For consignment, a 2002 Chevrolet Impala LS 4 door sedan with a title verified 22,884 miles showing on the odometer. It's a highly optioned car that includes 6-way power adjustable leather seats and a power sunroof.

Exterior
Navy Blue Metallic paint covers this car which combines the slight boxiness of previous generations with flush mounted lights and rounded corners of future offerings from Chevrolet. The plastic lenses on the headlights are crystal clear and fog lights are fitted flush into the lower front valance. There are lower body moldings along the rocker panel and around the rear valance which gives the car a slightly lower, sporty look. If you remember when this generation was released, you'll remember the unique taillight design which wraps a red plexiglass panel across the entire rear of the car embedding dual taillights and the reverse light in what almost seems like a nod to Corvettes and other vintage Chevrolets. Sport mirrors and a rear spoiler add even more sportiness to this otherwise conservatively designed passenger car. We were hard pressed to find any flaws on the exterior.

Interior
Nicely appointed door panels include a woodgrain trim piece amongst varying shades of gray molded plastic in a neat and clean design. Gray leather bucket seats occupy the front and include sporty headrests and pleated inserts. The driver's side shows just a bit of patina creasing in the leather but is not worn or torn. A rear bench seat includes three headrests, three shoulder seat belts, and a pull down armrest, all very clean. Leather wraps the steering wheel also which is replete with radio and cruise control thumb buttons. The dash is textured molded gray plastic with a basic gauge package and a woodgrain trim piece that spans across the dash, visually connecting the door trim. The center stack contains large buttons for radio and climate control and the radio includes a cassette and CD player. An ergonomic shifter is in the center console just ahead of cupholders and storage bin. Low pile gray carpet covers the floor and is clean, as is the padded gray cloth headliner molded around the sunroof. An overhead console contains garage door buttons and OnStar capability. The trunk is fully lined with gray cloth and panels.

Drivetrain
A clean 3.8 liter V6 is under the hood, fuel injected and rated at 200 horsepower. It is set into motion via a 4T65E 4-speed automatic transmission which keeps the power up front with 3.05 gears. Power disc brakes are found on both front and rear.

Undercarriage
Aside from the typical surface rust, the underside is in like new condition with no dirt or oil to speak of. The single exhaust flows through an original equipment muffler and then exits out back under the rear bumper cover. MacPherson struts occupy the front and rear.

Drive-Ability
This is my first time driving this generation Impala and what a fine example to start with! It's a very clean car that looks and functions like it came from the dealership 2 years ago instead of 22 years ago. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase.

Here's a handsome automobile from the early 2000's with the venerable 3.8 liter V6 from GM. It's almost Radwood fodder and kept in this condition, will be a unicorn in years to come as 99.9% of these were used and used up. It's already fairly uncommon to see one. Look for this one on our TikTok soon where old daily driver cars routinely attract a million views, sometimes more than our rare classics! Be sure to call if interested!
