The beneficiary of a complete restoration, this sophisticated 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T remains stylish enough for a night out on the town, while packing a boat load of performance under its skin. The handsome Dark Green Metallic paint is accented quite nicely by a complimenting vinyl top, matching vinyl interior, and left void of typical R/T stripes across the back of the car. Pull the hood pins and lift the performance hood and you'll reveal a thunderous Magnum 440 six pack V-8. The engine with the help of three 2-barrel carburetors was good for 390hp from the factory. All said and done there were only 1,640 Challenger R/T 2 door hardtops built with the V code 440 Six Pack. Of those only 847 were equipped with a 4-speed manual, and even fewer with a Super Track Pack rear axle and suspension.
Open the door and you'll be greeted by a completely restored green vinyl interior. Two front bucket seats are separated by a woodgrain console with the pistol grip shifter for the 4-speed manual transmission. In front of the driver is the optional wood grain Rallye instrument cluster that houses the 150MPH speedo, optional 8,000 RPM tachometer, analog clock, and fuel, temp, oil pressure and voltage meter. A factory AM/FM 8 track installed below. The trunk compartment is equally restored and equipped with a restored space saver spare tire and accessories.
Underneath the Challenger is all business. Bolted to the V-code 440 is the storied A833 4-speed manual transmission that feeds power to a Super Track Pack Dana 60 rear axle with a 4.10 sure grip differential. Solid floors painted satin black. Even though this came with a 440 it was factory equipped with the Hemi suspension which meant it came with a .94 diameter front sway bar, firm ride shock absorbers, hemi torsion bars, heavy duty rear springs, and disc brakes on the front with drum brakes on the rear. The entire car rides on 15"" styled Rallye wheels with period correct Polyglas tires.
The sale of this Challenger includes the Galen Govier report that describes the authenticity of the drivetrain and acknowledges the inclusion of the Challenger into the Chrysler Registry.
