Sexy! #s matching, factory red/red and documented LT-1! It has original protect-o-plate and tank sticker. Painstakingly restored to original specs. Less than 2,000 LT1 Corvettes were made in 1971. The beauty of the LT1 was that it packed nearly the same punch of the entry level 454, but weighed less, allowing for improved overall drivability. Many consider the LT1 to be the finest Corvette ever made, praising its flexibility, lightweight packaging, and robust nature that mimic the attributes of a true racing engine.
EXTERIOR: Factory colors! Born Mille Miglia Red, code 973. This car has been repainted and they did it right, the finish is glossy and reflective. All the panels are nicely aligned with good gaps. The doors close easily with minimal effort and the raised hood lets others know this is not a typical Corvette. The rear bumper has been rechromed and the front is a nice original. Take off the T-tops and remove the back window for an open air experience that rivals any convertible. It's sitting on 15" rally rims wrapped in BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires.
INTERIOR: Factory colors! Born red inside too, code 407. This interior has the perfect blend of new and original. The seats were recovered. The door panels were replaced. It has an aftermarket stereo. The remainder appears to be unabused and very original. There is no feeling equal to being nestled in the cockpit of a Corvette!
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Wonderfully restored to original specs and sharply detailed! Boasting matching numbers this LT1 is a true performance model with a 4 bolt main block, forged aluminum pistons, high rise aluminum intake and a Holley carb. It is easily identified by it's aluminum finned valve covers. It's equipped with optional power steering and power brakes. The alternator looks fresh. The underside of the hood, fender wells, and firewall are all painted the correct satin black.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Nicely carpeted with some storage compartments.
UNDERSIDE: It appears to be original and serviced as needed. This Corvette features independent suspension front and back. It also includes disc brakes at all for wheels, the e-brake assembly is hooked up. There is a factory style exhaust system with square tips going through the valance. It also has the proper raw fiberglass floors that have not been painted over. Looking up at the motor it's clean Chevy Orange and has the correct style starter. VIN number matching close ratio Muncie 4-speed that transfers the power back to a 3.55 posi rear end.
SERVICE: Our shop thoroughly inspected this car and we repaired the amp gauge, replaced the distributor, replaced the vacuum switch for the wipers, replaced the flasher for the turn signals, fixed the left visor, tightened the gearbox, bled the brakes, fixed the parking brake, mounted and balanced four new tires, and fixed an exhaust leak.
The LT1's legacy endures, captivating enthusiasts and collectors alike. With the #'s matching drivetrain and killer factory colors, the decision is simple, this is the right one!
