The transmission is an aftermarket brand thrust button case 32 spline M22W built by Medatronics in Florida. it has a McLeod clutch with Heim jointed linkage, and a scatter shield bell housing. A 3" steel Dennys drive shaft 1350 u-joints. The rear differential is well built with chromoly input yoke 3.73 gears Eaton clutch Posi, and rear cover that applies main cap support and alloy axles with 1/2" wheel studs. It has a Competition Plus Shifter that has been modified to accept an original Muncie shifter.
The Malibu has an excellent road handling thanks to Edelbrock rear shocks, aftermarket rear control arms and frame stiffener, heavy sway bar, and air bags in the coil springs to adjust for tire to ground pressure. Other features include front discs and drums rear brakes with manual master. The manual steering box is a 16-1 trans-am ratio built by Redhead Steering in Seattle. Has a stainless-steel gas tank, and ptfe fuel lines to prevent problems with our local alcohol content gasoline. The twin Spal electric fans controlled by a Painless Wiring fan controller keeps the Malibu cool under any driving conditions.
