1977 John Deere 2040 This 1977 John Deere 2040 is a remarkable find with only 362 hours on its 40-horsepower diesel engine. It has spent most of its life sitting outside, barely used, and is in fantastic condition considering its age. I have taken great care to ensure it's in top working order, with all hydraulic seals replaced, as well as the drag link and tie rod ends. I also flushed the hydraulic system, changing the oil filter three times to get it clean, and the engine oil and filter have been freshly replaced. The brake master cylinder has been re-sealed, and the diesel injection pump was recently serviced with a new seal kit by Diesel Controls in Hutchinson. The rear tires are in good condition, while the front tires are likely the original ones, but still holding air with tubes. All parts used are OEM John Deere, except for one hydraulic line that is no longer available. This tractor starts immediately and runs smoothly, purring like a kitten. It originally came from the family of the man who bought it new, and I also have the original shop and operator's manuals. This is a very nice, well-maintained tractor that's ready to go!
