1995 Cadillac Fleetwood Sedan

Description:

Top-of-the-line Fleetwood Brougham. 70,000 miles. Loaded with options. Extremely well maintained, everything works. Runs and drives superbly. Beautiful color combination. The last of the true American luxury sedans, ready for your next road trip!

Until youve experienced the pillowy-soft luxury of a traditional body-on-frame American luxury car, its hard to describe it. Cadillac was the undisputed king of such machines and held out as long as possible building cars like this handsome 1995 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham to deliver that traditional feel. Today it feels a bit like a rolling anachronism, but we guarantee youll never find a better car for long-distance road trips. Finished in Light Driftwood Metallic, it looks the part of a high-end luxury car, particularly with the bright stainless trim along the rockers that was emblematic of the Brougham upgrade. Styling did a pretty good job of hiding the cars sheer size, but make no mistake, this is a very big car. There are limousine-like accommodations in back and Cadillac surely emphasized the cars great length in their period advertising. There are no signs of accident damage, repaints, or rust damage anywhere on the car, which spent almost the entirety of its life in sunny, warm Florida. The chrome and stainless trim is excellent and the padded roof shows no evidence of trouble underneath. Panel fit is quite good and the car feels like a high-end luxury sedan in the heavy way the doors swing shut. This is still an imposing car on the road.

The interior is where big cars like this really shine. Theres plenty of stretch-out room for everyone, and with those expansive leather-covered couches are soft and comfortable. Every available feature was standard on the Brougham, including power windows, locks, seats, and mirrors, a tilt steering column, rear defrost, heated seats, and a powerful climate control system. All those systems are operation, as is the digital instrument panel, which is an important factor when considering one of these relics. The upholstery shows light signs of use but no damage or excessive wear, the carpets are protected by matching carpeted floor mats, and the massive back seat area looks hardly used. Even the headliner looks virtually new and does not suffer from any sagging or deterioration. The Delco AM/FM/cassette/CD stereo system sounds great inside the hushed Fleetwood and with just over 70,000 miles on the clock, its still tight and rattle-free. And, of course, theres a positively massive trunk in back, which includes a full-sized spare, jack assembly, and accessory cargo net to keep things secure. If theres a better car for family road trips, I dont know what it might be.

Part of that supreme roadworthiness comes from the engine, which is a Corvette-derived 5.7 liter V8. With a lot of the tweaks of the Corvette LT1, it feels energetic and powerful, which is a pleasant change of pace from most luxury yachts of the era. The engine bay is neat and tidy, 100% stock, and properly maintained. Factory markings and decals are still visible throughout, and thanks to the engines legendary reliability, its probably ready to go for another 30 years. It starts easily, idles properly, and generally goes about its business the way a luxury engine should: quietly and competently. It even pulls down decent fuel economy on the open road thanks to the 700R4 4-speed automatic with a deep overdrive gear. Of course, the 2.93 gears in back certainly help, making the car feel relaxed at speed. The ride is soft yet controlled, a trait unique to body-on-frame cars like this, and even with dual exhaust, its hushed and nearly silent inside. You can see that the floors are in incredibly condition with no rot issues and theres only light surface scale on the heavy iron parts, which is common. Chrome alloy wheels were optional, with these carrying a recent set of 235/75/15 whitewall radials.

Weve had these on our future collectables list for several years and values are ticking upwards as people finally realize that cars like this will never exist again. With a big V8 up front, an isolated body sitting on a massive frame, and traditional suspension tuning, this is the car that best epitomizes an era. Call today!
