The Task Force was introduced in 1955 and would be the first major re-design since 1947 and would be a completely new and more modern design without sacrificing durability. Over the course of five years during the production of the Task Force, there would be minor changes, which were mostly cosmetic. It would feature the truck industry's first wrap-around windshield, would be offered with a optional power steering, power brakes and for the first time, the headlamps would be integrated into the body.
