1948 Willys Jeepster

Description:

Produced by Willys Overland Motors of Toledo Ohio from 1948 thru 1950 with a total of 19,132 cars built. This rarely seen first year model was designed by Brooks Stevens to transition the military Jeeps into a fun utility convertible, Stevens went on to design the Studebaker Avanti and later to build the world renown Excaliber cars. This gorgeous example has received a highly detailed and correct restoration on a very solid bodied car with original floor pans. Glass smooth paint in Michigan Yellow with black fenders and accent trim with expertly finished red and black vinyl interior and snug fitting convertible top with boot and removable side windows. Show quality chrome bumpers and polished stainless trim, new w.w.w. 670/15 bias ply tires on restored steel wheels with correct Willys hubcaps and new tinted glass with new rubber seals. It appears to have the original MB coded 134c.i. flathead 4-cylinder engine mated to 3 speed manual transmission with working overdrive. All new original style cloth covered wiring harness make all gauges and lights work properly, the car drives out great and brakes evenly, an exceptional car in every respect.
