This was a special year for the Corvette. The design was updated in time for the 25th anniversary, and it was also chosen to be the Indy 500 Pace Car. Under the hood is the numbers-matching 350-cubic-inch L-48 motor. We saw all the L-82 badging, too, but that really doesn't make any difference since this V8 has been upgraded to make sure it's more powerful than any Corvette the factory offered in 1978. It has an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, an Edelbrock intake, an HEI distributor, and headers feeding a full dual exhaust system. So it warms up to be a strong and fun powerhouse. And it's an all-around solid cruiser with features like the fully independent suspension, four-wheel power disc brakes, power steering, and a three-speed automatic transmission.
