1965 Chevrolet Corvette

Description:

The 1965 Corvette continued on the success of the mid-year String Ray with subtle changes. The hood vents were removed, the trio of fender vents now effectively reduced engine heat and the wheel covers were redesigned. New for 1965 was a 396ci/425hp big block that essentially replaced the more expensive 327ci/375hp Fuel Injected motor. Also new were standard 4-wheel disc brakes that improved braking considerably along with extended longevity. It proved to be a successful year and Chevrolet sold 23,562 examples!

We are very excited to represent this 1965 Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray Convertible! Finished in rare XX- Goldwood Yellow over correct Std.-Black vinyl upholstery with matching black convertible top! This restored Corvette comes powered with its numbers matching 327ci/300 horsepower V8 engine mated to a 1968 date-coded M20 wide-ratio 4-speed transmission and highway friendly 3.08 Posi-Traction rear axle. Options include power steering, power disc brakes, side exhaust system, Delco AM/FM radio, dual outside mirrors, black vinyl floor mats, and knock-off alloy wheels wrapped in new BF Goodrich Radial gold stripe tires measuring 205/70R15.

The presentation is gorgeous, and the driving qualities are simply superb! It received a comprehensive restoration to both cosmetics and mechanicals over the last couple of years. This included a professional exterior repaint with new convertible top and weather stripping; rebuild suspension components front & rear; all new braking system with stainless steel lines, upgraded brake master cylinder & booster; fresh power steering hoses; new interior seat upholstery with new underlying foam; separate aftermarket Custom Autosound 'Secret Audio' system utilizing a head unit hidden inside the glove box and rear component speaker system hidden in the rear storage compartment; and much more!
