Representing the last year of the C1 (Corvette, 1st generation), the 1962 Corvette marked the debut of the iconic 327 V8, which replaced the 283 and offered even stronger performance than its respected predecessor. The car's styling was now monochromatic and more cohesive with the de-chromed character lines on the front fenders and doors now matching those on the rear quarters. For many Corvette enthusiasts, a final-year C1 is the one to have. Here we have a 1962 Corvette that looks stunning in its factory-correct triple Black color scheme. Under the hood is a non-original 327 V8 that boasts several upgrades from the 340-horsepower-spec engine, putting its output at around that 340-horse figure. The power runs through the slick-shifting 4-speed to the 3.55- geared Positraction rear end. Reflecting its drag car roots, the Corvette originally had a 4.11 rear end, along with a scatter shield and underride-style traction bars.
