"Get the 2SS, it's worth it over the 1SS" is the mantra heard on Camaro forums far and wide whenever someone asks the difference. And there were some substantial additions to the 2SS including heads up display, heated and ventilated seats, wireless device charging, interior trim, an upgraded audio system and a lot more that had Camaro fans advocating for the 2SS whenever asked.
For consignment, a 2014 Camaro 2SS coupe with a title verified 27,516 actual miles! This one owner garage queen comes with the original window sticker and some stock parts, (more on that soon!), and is bathed in a spectacular color on an aggressive looking platform.
Exterior Blue Ray Metallic sparkles in two stage glory on every panel of the car. In 2014, the exterior got refreshed and that includes as we see here, a slimmer grille, new taillights, and a lower front fascia with fog lights. A functional louvered hood vent adds some aggression and the rear wing, some sportiness. The three lined body detail on the rear quarter panel is a throwback to the 1969 Camaro while the big 20-inch wheels are a modern addition with no reference to previous generations. A sunroof slides back not far from the shark fin antenna on the roof. The only imperfections we note are some chin scrapes where it kissed a driveway or two, some curb rash on the wheels, and a few areas of heavier than factory finish orange peel in the paint.
Interior A glossy body keyed insert is on the standard black door panels. The front bucket seats are Jet Black leather with Twilight Blue inserts with side bolstering and SS embroidered headrests. Rear 2+2 seating mirrors the leather pattern and provides a cozy cocoon for passengers. The steering wheel front a set of paddle shifters as this automatic equipped car has the TAPshift manual mode option. Two semi retro square pods contain round gauges where the speedometer and tachometer display on either side of a digital speed readout. The audio system includes an AM/FM radio with MyLink, Bluetooth, XM capability, Navigation, and a backup camera, all in the center stack. Knobs and switches for an elaborate temperature control system fall just under the audio screen. Four more retro gauges head the center console, and the leather handled shifter is ready for action on the plastic based indicator. Needless to say, the black carpet is like new, the headliner is perfect, and the trunk and its cargo net look unused.
Drivetrain A 6.2 liter L99 V8 cranking out 426 horsepower lives under the vented hood. It's fuel injected and tied to a 6L80E 6-speed automatic transmission that sends power to the rear axle with 3.27 limited slip gearing. A K&N cold air intake adds some bling to the clean engine bay with a polished up pipe. A Brembo brake package enhances the power disc brakes found front and rear.
Undercarriage Essentially factory clean and dry underneath. It's here we find the Borla Atak muffler system. Our consignor states that the original exhaust and air intake will go with the car to the new owner. Polished exhaust tips hug the sculpted rear valance. The front houses independent coil spring suspension and the back is independent with multi-link and coil springs.
Drive-Ability It doesn't take much to get this car going and the sound immediately gets us going! Not sure why you would want to go back to stock, but it's there as an option. Meanwhile, the car rolls like new, tracks, stops, and turns with confidence. All functions operate as they should.
Here's a 2014 SS Camaro with the fresh appearance package, some tasty mods, and barely broken in. It is, for all intents and purposes, a near flawless ten year old Camaro. And Camaro fans unite, it has the 2SS package, desirable by any measure. Camaro Nationals will be at the mall soon, so now's the time to grab this beauty before thousands of Camaro addicts see it!
