1 of only 19 known 1930 Packard 734 Speedsters in existence In the care of two prestigious collector owners, William Harrah and General Lyon, for over 50 years Retains its original body, engine, steering box, frame and rear axle Prior Classic Car Club of America National First Prize winner Chassis no. 184088 Engine no. 184095 Body no. 442-26 The firewall data plate states a delivery date of July 7, 1930 by Service and Sales, Inc. in Portland, Oregon to a Mrs. Sealey Acquired by William F. Harrah in 1960 and became part of his illustrious car collection for 26 years Harrah commissioned a restoration in Salmon and Brown that was completed in 1964 Acquired from Harrah by General William Lyon for inclusion in his renowned Packard collection Remained in Lyon's care until 2011 Current restoration was completed after Lyon sold the car Featured in Harrah's Automobile Collection gift shop catalog and in Harrah's Automobile Collection special edition book by Dean Bachelor Displayed at the 2019 Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance and 2022 St. Michaels Concours d'Elegance Featured in the March 1963 issue of Car Life Magazine The document file on this car includes period images of the car with its original body before and after the 1964 restoration as well as registrations issued to Harrah 384/145 HP L-head inline 8-cylinder engine Detroit Lubricator dual-throat carburetor High compression head Correct finned manifolds Currently equipped with a visually-identical 1931 4-speed manual transmission Correct Speedster finned drum brakes Radiator stone shield "Daphne at the Well" radiator mascot Haartz canvas top and restored convertible top frame Black leather seats and red carpeting Six chrome wire wheels including dual side-mounted spares For more information, please visit mecum.com.
