This fun 1973 MGTD replica roadster offers the best of classic British style with the reliability and ease of operation that Volkswagens are famous for. Fiberfab constructed a range of fiberglass-bodied assembled and kit cars beginning in the mid-1960s. Fiberfab replicas of the 1952 MG TD were known for good quality and accuracy and featured steel-reinforced fiberglass bodies on Volkswagen Type 1 underpinnings. Features on this classy roadster include beige paint with contrasting brown fender arches and running boards as well as driving lights, a metal grille, grille badges, fender-mounted dual side mirrors, a fixed windshield, windshield wipers, turn signals, chrome bumpers, wire wheel covers, rear-mount spare tire, rear-hinged doors, a reverse light and oval tail lamps as well as a Fiberfab badge located at the top of the handsome chrome grille.
The cockpit houses bucket seats trimmed in tan vinyl, a real wood dash panel that houses retro-style Vintage gauges, a passenger-side grab handle, wood-rimmed steering wheel, door-panel map pockets, a dash-mounted rear-view mirror, and an AM/FM/CD stereo with two speakers behind the seats. A soft top and side-curtains allow the driver and passenger to stay dry if it starts to rain.
Power and performance are provided by a 1973 Volkswagen 1600cc, dual-port air-cooled engine that was the largest and highest horsepower offered in a VW Beetle, giving this car more power and reliability than an original 1952 MG TD. An easy to drive 4-speed manual transaxle delivers power to the rear wheels.
