Description:

1955 454 Powered Chevy 210 Resto-Mod Back in 1955, a young couple walked into their local Chevrolet dealership in Bloomsburg, PA and purchased a Sea Mist Green over Neptune Green, green cloth interior, 6 cylinder Chevy 210 2 door sedan. They drove it for many years and then sold it off. We're not sure how many owners were in between them and the fellow in NY who sold the car to the current owner, but, it couldn't have been too many, as the original owners were able to track down the current owner and when they were here in CT, reached out to him to see if they could see the car. He was quite happy to not only show them the car but took them on a ride throughout the northwest hills of CT. They were delighted, but the old man said .. "sure I'd buy it back .. if it was the two tone green and had the 6 cylinder/three on the tree. This car is a bit too much for me." The current owner figures he is either the third or fourth owner of the car. He's owned it for 20 years. Most of the car was as we see it when he purchased it. He installed the aluminum radiator, a new Vintage Air AC compressor, put the Nitto Extreme tires on it, wrapped around Boyd Coddington billet aluminum wheels. The tires are 235/45/ZR17 in front and 245/45/ZR18's in the rear. He had Rod over at Nor'eastern Motorsports tune the 454 big block Chevy and they figure it's putting out over 500 HP. The block has aluminum heads, and Edelbrock Performer aluminum intake, Brawler 4 BBL carb, with fuel pressure regulator, MSD ignition, Jet coated headers, 3" dual exhaust, Holley dual air filter set up, and all this sends the power to the road via the Tremac 5 speed manual transmission (with hydraulic clutch) out to a Ford 9" rear, running 3.40 gears and a limited slip. Twin electric thermostat (Thermotion) controlled fans keep this big block Chevy a cool 175 degrees even when idling on a 95 degree day. (It was 95 when the photos and videos were done). A chromed alternator keeps the Optima Red Top battery charged (a trickle charger is hardwired to it along with a cut off switch). Also under the hood is power steering and a vacuum operated power brake booster, also chrome and billet. Vintage Air and Old Air components run the air conditioning and keep the interior nice and chill. All the brackets under the hood are billet aluminum. To bring this beast to a stop, drilled/slotted disc brakes front and rear were installed. While one wouldn't consider a 55 Chevy 210 a sports car, this one is not adverse to corners. The CCP stage 4 suspension kit, with added rear traction bars, front and rear anti-sway bars , coil overs and tubular upper and lower A arms, keeps the car glued to the road and level when hauling into and around corners. All of that can't keep the rear tires glued though when the right pedal hits the floor. The interior is finished in red and black vinyl to match the paint, electronic gauges , chrome tilt wheel, bluetooth/aux hook up "stock looking" stereo plays the tunes. Aside from a small rub on the driver piping, the interior is near perfect. Under the black carpet, Dynomat insulation helps keep the heat out. The red and black paint, sitting up over new chrome California bumpers and all new stainless trim is also almost perfect, just a couple of small nicks as called out in the photos. The undercarriage is also pristine, with but a dot or two of surface rust, the rest almost clean enough to eat off of. The owner says that this has been his choice car to just hop in and go, as it is absolutely turn key. Of the 11500 miles on the odometer, he's put close to 10K on it. It starts right up, idles great, will burn the tires off of it you want but will also cruise down the highway at 75, turning just about 2000 rpm, ac blowing cold and never going above 180 degrees. He's selling this and one other car as he finds that having two classics doesn't allow him to use either enough. His plan/hope is to get a late 50's early 60's Corvette once these are gone. The asking price on this canyon carving, 454 tire roasting monster is $68,000 Any questions, for several hundred additional photos and videos, to schedule a time to inspect her, or to make an offer, please don't hesitate to contact me. Thank you for the interest!
