2011 Ford Mustang GT Coupe

Description:

2011 Ford Mustang GT Coupe

"The ingredients needed to make a Mustang: horsepower, horsepower, and more horsepower, plus a chrome pony, a glove box, and a cigarette lighter. Thankfully, Ford has embellished on this old fashioned recipe with a car that handles, gets decent fuel economy when driven mildly, and doesn't consume your driveway like the much larger and heavier Chevy Camaro and Dodge Challenger." thx Car and Driver, 3/29/10

For consignment, a 2011 Ford Mustang GT coupe with a title verified 31,753 actual miles and some tasteful mods that stealthily improve handling, stance, and more obviously, sound. This car's always been garaged, and it's good looks use Ford's fifth generation Mustang and adds just a pinch of spice to the recipe.

Note: Due to modifications of the emissions control devices installed by the manufacturer, please check your local, state, and federal laws to determine if this vehicle is applicable for use on public highways in your area

Exterior
The running horse is gone from the grille and so is the honeycomb design and in its place a more streamlined grille with horizontal streaks in black which picks up on the lower air intake and fog light surround for an overall clean and aggressive face. While we're up here, we notice some rock chips on the bumper cover and nose which are painted Kona Blue as the rest of the car. The hood has a slight bulge and like the other performance cues on the car, is subtle and not boy racer over the top. That applies to the color keyed spoiler on the rear decklid and black valance that houses the dual tips. Wind cutting lines present in the car's profile which is swept back and smooth as glass, not ladened down by air ducts, vents, or body work. 19-inch Forgestar F14 wheels in Gloss Anthracite look stunning on the blue car, wearing staggered size tires tucked into the wheel openings with the help of suspension mods we'll talk about soon. Other than those rock chips on the front, the car is near flawless on the exterior.

Interior
The running horse makes an appearance on the door panels which are cleanly molded black plastic with chrome rimmed speakers and blue stitched leather inserts. The Ebony leather bucket seats mirror the blue stitching and include a Grabber Blue stripe down the middle on the inserts, perhaps a nod to legendary Mustangs of the past. Two plus two seating in the back is colored in the same pattern and materials and provides some cozy seating as well as pull down seat backs for trunk expansion. A fat leather wrapped steering wheel doubles as the radio and cruise control panel and fronts a pair of gauges backlit in blue, somewhat retro in their font choice and a speedometer that reaches 160 mph. Between the circles four more sources of operational information. In the center stack, a flat presentation of radio and climate controls, a slot for a CD, and a digital screen. A beefy shifter is in the center console and provides a nice hand rest once you settle on Drive and hit the open road. Low pile black carpet presents cleanly as does the soft charcoal molded headliner above.

Drivetrain
Under the hood is the very clean 5.0 liter Coyote V8 and with the JLT cold air intake and Bama Tune, it's likely this canine has a sharper bite. It's fuel injected and rated at 415 horsepower, set into motion via a 6R80 6-speed automatic transmission sending power to the 8.8" rear with 3.73 gears and TracLoc. Naturally, power disc brakes are on board to harness this Coyote. A strut tower brace spans the width of the bay for added stability.

Undercarriage
Okay, here's where things get even more interesting. The stock suspension configuration is coil springs up front and a 3 link, coil springs, and panhard bar in the rear. Our consignor has added BMR adjustable upper and lower control arms, Ford Racing springs lowered 1.25", and Ford Racing dampers. A 3" catless midpipe has been added to the exhaust system along with GT500 mufflers and our consignor states the original catted midpipe will come with the vehicle. Beyond these items, the condition underneath is very clean with some typical surface rust but not road dirt, extra grease, or errant fluids.

Drive-Ability
We have some Mustang guys on staff and they're liking this one! Sleeper status goes away when you unleash the Coyote and there are few V8 sounds better than an unburdened modern 5.0. The car has all the acceleration you'd expect from 400+ horses and it handles like a speed train on rails. Simple mods underneath create a car that's practically trackable but oh so fun on the street, where it will likely spend most of its time. During our short drive, all functions work as intended. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase.

Want a high performance Mustang without the exterior flash of special models? Want to fly under the radar with the ability to fly around curves? Want a spicy dish with ingredients that are folded into the mix and nearly imperceptible to the eye? This tasteful GT is the answer, and my Spidey senses tell me this is one Coyote that will be leaving our pack quickly. Call the mall and dial five point zero today!
