Rare 1962 Mercedes-Benz 300SE Fintail Sedan

The Mercedes-Benz's 300SE Fintail was the top of the line and even today it remains a luxurious and highly capable automobile. The example offered here represents the luxury and class of this much sought-after model. The 300SE was significantly refined with its Bosch fuel-injected, six-cylinder engine producing 170 bhp, sufficient for around 200 km/h. Of particular interest to enthusiasts is that the 300SE's engine is a detuned version of the same engine that powered the 300SL. As is the case with Mercedes-Benz's flagship models, 300SE ownership was confined to a few very lucky, very wealthy individuals. One could have bought two of the legendary E-Type Jaguars for the price of a single 300SE. Because of its expense and exclusivity, only 5,202 had been sold when production ceased in 1965. Original examples of top-of-the-line automobiles are greatly sought after in today's classic car market.
