1973 Dodge Challenger Rallye in Plum Crazy Purple with Satin black side stripes and hood treatment! No fender tag on this car, but thanks to an extensive paint and body restoration, it was discovered that B5 Blue was the original color and the car started life with a vinyl top. The paint work last year was done so well (by a professional) that the only way to spot the blue paint is to take the door panels off. Every where you look its purple. During the body restoration, front fenders, rear quarters, trunk lid, trunk valances and rocker panels were all replaced with new metal. The underside of the car was also first undercoated, then painted to match the top. It cant be said enough just how nice the paint and body are on this car. Hood pins and a split lower valance complete the look up front, although we think a black rear spoiler and possibly louvers would be nice touches on the back. Chrome and brightwork is very nice and the quad square-tipped exhaust looks killer. New aftermarket American racing wheels, 8x18 up front and 10x18 out back suit the look of the car as well. The car started life with a 340 V8, but thats been updated to a 360 V8 from 1977 with a 727 automatic and 8/34 rear diff behind it. The odometer reads 24,000 miles, but thats no longer accurate with an engine swap. Car was also originally equipped with factory A/C, but most of the under-hood components are no longer in place. New stainless dual exhaust sounds great, even with stock 340 manifolds. The 360 has a new high-rise intake and 4-bbl carb along with rebuilt heads. Power brakes on this car with front discs added along with power steering. All the brake components on all 4-corners are new. The car came with front and rear sway bars indicating its a Rallye package. The engine compartment is painted as nice as the rest of the car and looks fantastic. Moving inside, the white interior shows well against the purple paint. Buckets and console car. The 2 nd last owner did most of the work inside including new front seat skins, carpets and headliner. Door panels were dyed white and the dash is original. Just the back seat still requires new skins because of a couple of stitch rips, but were working on that. The dash has fully rally gauges with working tach and even the clock chooses to work on occasion. The car also has a light convenience package that lights up the headlight switch and key ignition for a set time, when the driver door is opened " very advanced feature thats not common on these cars! The car also came with a rear defogger and trip meter. A newer stereo is in place with a single 4x11 in the dash up front and new 6x9s on the rear deck. To top it all off, the trunk has been refinished in the correct body color, just like a Mopar should be. On top of the well-equipped interior and incredible professional body restoration, the car runs like a dream. The previous owner clearly spent a lot of time on tuning and set up. The car fires up well, choke works and kicks off as it should, and the whole thing just purrs. This one is just waiting for its next home! Call and make it yours.
