1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 Tribute Restomod

Description:

In terms of banner years, 1969 stands out as one of the most exciting in American history. The moon landing, Woodstock, and cars like this 1969 Chevrolet Camaro all serve as proof of just how memorable this year was. This Camaro is nothing short of stunning in its full Matte Black paint. With its cowl-induction hood, Z/28 badging, and decklid spoiler, this pony car looks ready to gallop from any angle.

Inside, we find a nicely redone black cloth interior. A pair of late-model bucket seats equipped with headrests provides far more comfort and support than the ones they replace. A beautiful power-assisted, three-spoke woodgrain steering wheel sits ahead of a six-pod AutoMeter Carbon Fiber Ultra-Lite gauge set featuring a 160 mph speedometer, mounted in a custom carbon-fiber housing. A retro-style AM/FM/AUX head unit and Vintage Air HVAC controls look original enough not to disrupt the throwback vibe, while providing more soundtrack options and air conditioning (respectively). A B&M shifter completes the racy vibe.

Under the hood, we find a 350 cubic-inch Fast Burn GM crate motor. Thanks to its titular aluminum cylinder heads, this potent small-block is built on a four-bolt main cast-iron block, a forged crankshaft, and a hydraulic roller camshaft. Fed by a single four-barrel Holley 770cfm carburetor, this motor makes at least 385-horsepower and 405 pound-feet of torque. Power is routed through a 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission before being sent to the built 3.73-geared 12-bolt GM rear end, which transfers those ponies to the pavement via a set of 18-inch oversized Rally Sport wheels.
