CONDITION
This 1961 Ford Falcon Pro Touring is a fully restored, professionally built sedan that started as a very straight dry-climate car with very minor body imperfections and no rust in the body. The original paint and two older repaints were hand-scraped prior to refinishing the car in red, and body filler is limited to only a small number of minor dents and dings. The body, trunk, engine bay, interior surfaces, and undercarriage have been coated with a product similar to Lizard Skin, giving the car a solid, finished feel. The exterior presents clean and sharp with original grille and headlight bezels, and it sits right on 15" Ultra cast aluminum wheels.
Inside, the cabin is fresh and factory-correct for the Falcon with custom-made door panels, new weather stripping, and new window runners. The instrumentation is updated with oil pressure, coolant temperature, volts, fuel level, transmission temperature, a dash-mounted mini tachometer, and a GPS-sender speedometer. The battery is relocated to the trunk and the car features a readily accessible main battery cut-off switch mounted under the dash.
Power comes from a new GM 350 crate motor paired with a rebuilt Turbo 350 automatic and stall converter, and it is supported by a full cooling package including an aluminum radiator with transmission cooler and an electric fan. The fuel system has been upgraded with a new fuel tank, a performance fuel pump, and a gauge at the carburetors. The car has been professionally rewired front-to-back using high-quality flame-retardant automotive wiring with separate, color-coded, individually fused circuits housed in a clean, accessible main electrical panel.
The chassis and suspension are built for real street performance with subframe connectors, a Mustang II-style front suspension, rack and pinion steering with electric power assist, and a Ford 8-inch rear with fresh 3.25 gears. Four-wheel disc brakes with 11" rotors and a Lokar emergency brake system round out the driveline and braking package. This Falcon runs and drives perfectly, starts hot or cold, stays at a steady 190 degrees, and is dependable enough to drive anywhere. There is no heater or A/C.
