1968 BSA Thunderbolt
VIN: A65TB241
The Thunderbolt was part of BSA's Star series, sharing many components with the Lightning model, differing primarily by having a single carburetor rather than two. This resulted in a bike that was easier to tune and required less maintenance, plus better mileage and a broader mid-range; all of which made for a machine oriented more for grand touring than sport riding.
The example shown here is an unmolested all original and still in good condition after 58 years. It runs well and without issue, and is mostly original save for its repainted black tank. It was acquired by the current owner in 2005, with only 7,800 miles showing on the speedometer. It has been carefully maintained since, and other than a chain replacement, a horn repair, and a speedometer replacement no major issues have been experienced by the current owner during the 18 years that he has owned it. (All maintenance & repair docs furnished with sale, as well as the grab bar, the original speedo, and spare tank badges.)
