1932 Ford Model 18
This exceptional 1932 Ford Model 18 Roadster represents the first year of Ford's legendary flathead V-8 and is a beautifully built custom hot rod with an impressive show history. The original 1932 body remains intact and is complemented by a newer hood and trunk lid. The vehicle includes a BeBop top, while the inside of the body panels and underside of the body have been professionally coated with tinted bed liner material for added protection and durability. The body is finished in stunning dark blue PPG paint with professional custom pinstriping, and the red accents on the hood and beltline are painted beneath the clear coat for a deep, lasting finish.
This roadster comes with two complete wheel and tire packages. The first features powder-coated red spoked wheels wrapped in vintage Firestone wide white tires. The second includes authentic classic Hildebrand wheels with spinners, paired with Hoosier front tires and Goodyear cheater slicks in the rear. The fully boxed custom frame was specially built in Denver and serves as the foundation for a meticulously engineered chassis featuring a Ford 9-inch positraction rear end with 31-spline axles and 3.50 gears, coil-over rear suspension with bars, front disc brakes, and rear drum brakes.
Power comes from a professionally built 342 cubic inch Windsor stroker Ford engine utilizing an Iron Eagle block, Eagle 4340 forged rotating assembly, Edelbrock intake manifold, Holley carburetor, Voodoo camshaft, Sanderson headers, and Edelbrock aluminum cylinder heads. Shifting duties are handled by a Phoenix Racing C-4 automatic transmission. The leather interior was crafted by Ultimate Interior of Los Angeles and maintains a tasteful retro appearance that complements the vehicle's classic styling.
This award-winning roadster has appeared at the prestigious L.A. Roadster Show and Goodguys events four times, earning awards at three of those appearances. It has also collected numerous awards at smaller shows throughout its ownership. Included with the sale are a battery tender and a California car cover.
