This is one of only 171 factory M491 Turbo Look Cabriolets built for North America for the 1988 model year, making it one of the rarest G50-era Carreras ever produced. The M491 package gave buyers the legendary 930 Turbo s wide body, brakes, suspension, Fuchs wheels, and aggressive appearance while retaining the reliable naturally aspirated 3.2L Carrera engine. Originally a very expensive factory option, these cars have become highly sought after by collectors. We purchased this vehicle from its long-term owner in Atlanta, Georgia, who owned it for approximately 25 years after purchasing it in 2001. Unfortunately, he developed Parkinson s disease and reached the point where he was no longer able to enjoy driving the car. Finished in Black (L700) over a Black leather interior (LT), this M491 is powered by its original 3.2L flat-six paired with the desirable G50 5-speed manual transmission. In 2008, the engine was professionally rebuilt by Checkpoint Auto, and during his ownership he also installed a new convertible top. The car now shows roughly 100,000 miles.
