This 1971 Chevrolet C10 shortbed Fleetside was purchased by its current owner as an already fully restored truck presented in stock configuration. During his ownership, the C10 evolved into its current form through a series of mechanical, chassis and appearance updates, while much of its traditional Chevrolet character was retained. Finished in rich green with Custom/10 Deluxe trim, the truck now combines the appearance of a restored second-generation C10 with a substantial list of updates throughout.
The exterior presents with bright chrome bumpers, polished trim, Custom/10 Deluxe badging and woodgrain bodyside moldings that complement the green finish. The pickup bed is finished to match the body, including the ribbed steel floor, inner bedsides and wheel tubs, creating a clean and cohesive appearance. Genuine Boyds billet wheels fill the wheel openings and provide a custom stance while leaving the truck's original body lines and trim as the visual focus.
Power comes from a Chevrolet ZZ4 350ci V8 upgraded with Holley Sniper electronic fuel injection and dressed with Chevrolet valve covers and a low-profile finned air cleaner. A 700R4 4-speed automatic transmission sends power to a narrowed 12-bolt rear axle with 4.10 gearing and new Moser axle shafts, combining aggressive rear gearing with the benefit of an overdrive transmission. The lowered suspension incorporates tubular truck arms and C-notched rear frame rails, while power steering and POL four-wheel power disc brakes, with red calipers visible behind the billet wheels, further update the chassis. A Boyd's Welding fuel tank has been relocated beneath the bed floor, while an aluminum radiator and electric cooling system support the upgraded powertrain.
Inside, the C10 maintains a largely period-inspired appearance with a black upholstered bench seat, matching black door panels and the original-style Chevrolet steering wheel. The factory-style instrument cluster retains its classic analog presentation, while subtle upgrades bring the cabin up to modern standards. A Bluetooth-equipped RetroSound audio system occupies the factory radio location and is paired with Kicker speakers, a Pioneer amplifier and subwoofer. Holley Sniper EFI monitoring is discreetly positioned in the glovebox, while modern air conditioning is operated through Vintage Air controls incorporated into the original-style dash layout. The original lap belts have been replaced with shoulder belts, while Altman Easy Latch door latches by Trique Manufacturing replace the factory-style latch mechanism for another functional update.
The finished result retains the recognizable character of the 1971 C10 while incorporating a substantial list of mechanical, chassis and interior updates. Its traditional Chevrolet styling and lowered stance remain the focus, with the modifications adding modern functionality without changing the fundamental character of the truck.
