Within the massive range of C3 (1968-1982) Corvettes, many enthusiasts prefer those produced from 1968-1972. These Corvettes not only feature the stylish chrome front and rear bumpers, but also had the most power and performance compared to the later cars. Here we have one that's right at the peak of that era -- a 1969 Chevrolet Corvette coupe. Amazingly, this is a 37,000-mile, unrestored example that has had the same owner for the past 54 years. The car's documentation includes a PA title, the original Protect-O-Plate, the owners manual, hand written diary entries for all mileage maintenance and lots of records dating back over 50 years. The Corvette still wears its original Monza Red paint that still gleams, as does the various chrome and stainless-steel accents. That arrow-straight body sports the optional and rare side exhaust option that was only offered on the C3 in 1969. The classic Rally wheels round out the Corvette's strong curb appeal. Inside, the original Red vinyl upholstery, as well as the rest of the interior, is in impressive condition especially given it's nearly 60 years old. Other highlights include the optional Tilt/Telescopic steering wheel and AM/FM stereo radio. Sharp-eyed enthusiasts will notice that at some point the original thin-rimmed steering wheel was upgraded to a leather-wrapped 1978-'79-style steering wheel. Under the Corvette's long hood is the spirited and original 350/300-hp V8 that's paired to an automatic transmission. Note that the factory smog equipment (not shown) is still in excellent condition and was taken off in the early 1970s to gain more horsepower. Out on the road this 69 Corvette drives just as youd expect an original, well cared for car to drive, with plenty of power, a smooth-shifting transmission, strong brakes and of course a soundtrack that only a high-compression (10.25:1) small block can sing.
