The Chevrolet 3100 was part of Chevrolet's Advance-Design pickup truck line, which was introduced in 1947 and continued through the mid-1950s. The 1951 model year retained the distinctive styling of the Advance-Design trucks, including a rounded cab, prominent grille, and larger proportions compared with Chevrolet's earlier pickups. The 3100 designation was used for the half-ton short-bed pickup, making it one of Chevrolet's most recognizable light-duty trucks of the era. Power came from Chevrolet's proven inline-six engines, paired with manual transmissions, and these trucks became popular for both their practical utility and straightforward mechanical design. Today, the Advance-Design Chevrolet pickups are highly regarded among enthusiasts for their classic styling and place in the history of the American pickup truck.
