The 2009 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 is a high-performance sports car that represented the pinnacle of Corvette engineering at the time of its introduction. At its heart is a 6.2-liter V-8 LS9 engine producing 638 horsepower and 604 lb-ft of torque, capable of accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds and completing the quarter-mile in 11.3 seconds, with a top speed of 205 mph. Backed by a close-ratio six-speed manual transmission with a high-capacity dual disc clutch, and brought to a stop by Brembo multi-piston calipers with carbon-ceramic drilled rotors. The ZR1 is instantly recognizable with its raised carbon-fiber hood featuring a polycarbonate window, carbon-fiber roof, rocker molding, front splitter, and widened front fenders. The interior features high-quality materials, ZR1-logo sill plates, and a gauge cluster with a boost readout and 220-mph speedometer. A landmark American performance car that set the standard for what a production Corvette could achieve.
